😎 Effortlessly Cool, Totally Knitworthy—Meet the Echo Pullover! 😎

New Pattern Release

The Echo Pullover is the newest pattern. It features a simple but striking geometric design along with a looser fit, making it stylish and comfortable.

The Echo Pullover started with a simple request from my daughter: "Can you make me this brioche one?" I'd promised to knit her a sweater for her birthday, and she chose a simple ribbed design. Honestly, I find it tedious to knit things with plain stitch patterns unless there's a fun construction detail, so I suggested adding another colour to make it more interesting. We settled on a two-colour brioche sweater in fingering weight yarn, and she picked the colours.

When it came time to cast on, I realised I wasn't in the mood for brioche, so I suggested switching to a stranded colourwork instead, and she agreed—as long as it had dropped shoulders ("I'm never wearing a round yoke!" were her exact words), lots of positive ease, and simple geometric patterns.

To make it extra special, I asked her to draw the chart herself, which she loved doing.

This project pushed me out of my comfort zone. I created an oversized sweater with fine-fingering-weight yarn, constantly worrying about running out of the main colour. However, limitations often inspire creativity, and the Echo Pullover is the result. I loved every minute of making it and hope she wears it usually.

If you want your design to stand out, go for high-contrast colours, as they really make an impact. But if you're after something more low-key, a subtle contrast between two colours works great too, giving your design a softer, more calming feel.

This seamless, top-down crewneck features European shoulders and bold stranded colourwork on the body and parts of the sleeves, finished with 1x1 twisted ribbing on the hem, cuffs, and neckband.

With some longer floats in the design, the Ladderback Jacquard method is recommended, and the pattern includes charts for suggested ladderback jacquard stitch placements.

Even though most of the sweater is worked in the round, it does involve some sections of flat colourwork. But the chart is designed to be knitter-friendly, as the wrong-side rows, for the most part, are exact repeats of the right-side rows, making it easier to follow.

This pattern is available in six different languages: English, Danish, Dutch, French, German and Spanish.

Celestia Top

A spontaneous idea become an all-over colourwork summer top that's inspired by my Latvian heritage and features the Sun symbol.

The Celestia Top, worked seamlessly from the top down in the round, has a round yoke, short sleeves, and an interesting finishing detail.

This design was created in collaboration with Spincycle Yarns. It is particularly fun to work when using their colour-changing yarns Dyed In The Wool or Nocturne — seeing the colours transition as you knit is like creating an art piece with yarn!

This pattern is designed for sport-weight yarn, with a 26 sts x 32 rows = 10 cm / 4" gauge. As the motif is quite intricate, choosing two colours with a high contrast is important to ensure the pattern stands out.

Registrations for the test will open Wednesday, April 9th, at 3 PM BST, to give everyone in different time zones a fair chance. Spots will remain available until filled.

This year's theme is all about spring cleaning—whether it's tackling a lingering WIP or finally using up some long-forgotten stash yarn.

There will be prizes, community fun on Skool & Ravelry, and a special KAL discount to get you started if you need a pattern.

You can find all the details in our Skool group or Ravelry forum—we can't wait to see what you'll be working on!

Use code ZKAL25 to get a 25% discount on ALL Zaneteknits self-published patterns on Ravelry and our website.

The Blazer

Inspired by Coco Chanel's timeless tweed jacket, this cardigan brings elegance to your knitting needles. Designed with Spincycle Yarns' sport-weight Nocturne base, it's perfect for creating a classy look. Worked seamlessly from the top down in garter stitch, it features short-row shaped set-in sleeves and a fully-fashioned European shoulder for a sleek finish.

Optional fringe adds a unique touch, and decorative pocket flaps complete the design. Skool community members also get free access to supporting video series.

The pattern is set to launch very soon, so be sure to stay tuned!

Noura Cardigan Test

My next challenge is designing a summer-ready lace cardigan with set-in sleeves and a fully-fashioned European shoulder. A simple drop-shoulder design made up of basic rectangles would be much easier, but I'm looking forward to pushing myself with this tailored version as grading the lace pattern across different sizes will definitely be tricky.

The pattern is aimed at intermediate knitters who are comfortable incorporating newly added stitches into an established lace pattern. It will also come with a series of video tutorials.

A test call will be shared in the upcoming newsletter, so watch for that if you want to try this one.

We would greatly appreciate it if you shared the link with your knitting friends—our subscribers receive exclusive discounts and are always the first to hear about new patterns, test calls, and special events.
