New Pattern Release

Inspired by the classic Coco Chanel tweed jacket, The Blazer brings timeless style to your knitting needles. Created in collaboration with Spincycle Yarns and featuring their sport-weight Nocturne base. However, any sport-weight yarn can be used perfectly.

Worked seamlessly from the top down in garter stitch, this design includes short-row-shaped set-in sleeves and a fully-fashioned or European shoulder construction, achieving a tailored fit.

You can add the fringe to the edges or keep it off if you're worried it might catch on things! The pocket flaps are purely decorative without actual pockets and also entirely optional.

This project is full of details and construction techniques that make the knitting process both fun and rewarding. To guide you through, I've created a free instructional video series, "How to Knit The Blazer," accessible to all members of the Skool community.

Enjoy 20% discount on both Ravelry and zaneteknits.com by entering the code BLAZER at checkout.

Offer valid until May 4th, 11:59 PM BST! If you experience any issues with the discount code, please get in touch before completing the purchase as we can't apply discounts retroactively.

This pattern is offered in six languages: English, Danish, Dutch, French, German, and Spanish.

As our website doesn't support multiple file downloads yet, if you're placing an order there and need it in another language than English, please email us your order number, and we will provide you with the download links for the transactions.

Noura Cardigan

My goal was to create a summer-ready, all-over lace cardigan with a fitted design, incorporating plenty of shaping and set-in sleeves seamlessly worked into the lace pattern. It showcases a European shoulder and includes a lovely decorative bind-off technique.

I am thrilled with how this design has come together and am ready to test the pattern. It's aimed at intermediate knitters who are comfortable incorporating newly created stitches into a lace pattern, but a series of video tutorials will accompany it to help you along the way.

Test registrations will open on Wednesday, April 23rd, at 3 PM BST to ensure accessibility for participants across various time zones. Slots will remain open until all positions are filled.

Upcoming workshops

This weekend, I'll be teaching a couple of virtual workshops as part of Vogue Knitting Live alongside many other talented instructors.

On Friday, I'll start an entirely new class on crafting the perfect-fitting toe-up sock, which has never been taught virtually before.

Then, on Saturday, I'll teach the highly popular class on Ladderback Jacquard.

You can take a look at the class list and reserve your spot here.

I'll also be teaching two Ladderback Jacquard workshops in person at The Big Flock in Bristol, UK. This exciting new festival, organised by the talented team at Birdstreet Yarn, is an event I'm eagerly anticipating.

Refracta Sweater

This sweater was my way of exploring mosaic knitting and how the technique really shines. I worked on it in collaboration with Bilum Yarns, using their beautiful gradient yarns with long stretches of single colours. I wanted a method that gets through as many of the colours in the gradient skein, and mosaic knitting was perfect for that.

I learned so many new tricks during this project and couldn't be happier with how it turned out! With summer coming up, I went with short sleeves, but the pattern also has a long-sleeve option if that's more your style.

The pattern is set to launch soon, so be sure to stay tuned and keep an eye out for updates!

Auseklis Socks Test

During a recent interview, I mentioned that my latest published colourwork sock pattern, the VKL Memories Socks, could easily be adapted to use any colourwork chart as long as we adjusted the starting point within the chart repeat. When I found myself heading off on a long road trip without any of my larger sweater projects, I decided to put this idea to the test—and that's how the Auseklis Socks came to life.

The truth is, there's a bit of math involved in tweaking the pattern, but overall, my approach worked out. Since I know many people dislike maths, I've already handled that part and will be sharing it with a group of sock-knitting fans for testing in the following newsletter.

We would love it if you shared the link with any knitting friends—our subscribers enjoy exclusive discounts and are always the first to learn about new patterns, testing opportunities, and special events.
