🤔 Would you go for this with or without the fold-over collar?

New Pattern Release
Today I'm launching the pattern for the Elan Sweater. It might look fancy with its fold-over collar and flared sleeves, but it's totally beginner-friendly as it uses only the most basic knitting techniques. In addition, there's a full video course to help anyone who needs some extra help. Every step of the way is covered and it's available to anyone who joins the Zanete Knits community on Skool under the course "How to Knit the Elan Sweater" here.
I was browsing an online shop for some new spring clothes and couldn't help but notice the overwhelming number of off-shoulder styles, so I had to make one! The Elan sweater is the result, and it's very easy to customise the look to make it your own—keep the collar for an elegant vibe or skip it for something more casual.
I used some DK-weight yarn that I had had in my stash for years, so it's written for a gauge of 20 stitches and 28 rows = 10 cm / 4" in Stockinette. This is quite a quick knit, and it's also very easy to customise the look to make it your own. You can add the collar for an elegant vibe or skip it for something more casual.
This sweater is knit seamlessly from the top down, starting with a simple i-cord shoulder band. From there, stitches are picked up along the i-cord to create the yoke, which is shaped using raglan increases down to the underarm. After that, the sleeves and body are separated and knit to your preferred length, ending with a 2x2 rib. Finally, the collar is added by picking up stitches around the same shoulder band but worked in the opposite direction of the yoke.

My newsletter format is changing
If you've been subscribed for a while, you might have noticed the test call section is missing from this newsletter, and that's not an accident. It's been overwhelming trying to align test calls with pattern releases, so from now on, I'll be handling them separately and sending out individual announcements for each.
This means newsletters will come a lot more often, but they'll be shorter and more focused. Hopefully, you can tune in to the ones that interest you. For example, if testing isn't your thing, feel free to skip the test call emails! I'll do my best to make it clear in the subject line so you know what's what.
So, moving forward, pattern releases and test calls will be handled separately, and you'll hear from me more often in smaller bites. Hopefully, this will also make things easier for you and will not take away anything from your experience. Thanks for sticking with me!

Sabir Cardigan Test Call
It was time to knit something special for my other half. But this time, I ignored his "plain and simple" preference and went all in on the texture! This cardigan creates the look of cables… without any actual cables.
I'm thrilled to collaborate with Vincent and Maxim of @lesgarcons.boutique, using their gorgeous Marled British DK yarn. The stitch patterns come from a VKL class I took earlier this year, and @andreknits introduced me to the magic of tuck stitches.
It feels fitting that so many talented men are part of this project since it's for a man—though I might steal it for myself!
This design is packed with delicious details: Seamless top-down construction, the European shoulder and cool techniques that are fun to knit.
The test call is approaching quickly so be sure to stay tuned and keep an eye out for updates!
