New Pattern Release
I’m excited to introduce the Lina Cowl, a lovely collaboration with Feliz Y Punto from Spain! As soon as I saw their yarn, I was instantly reminded of autumn. The colours feel like that magical time of year when leaves burst into vibrant reds, oranges, and yellows. I wanted this cowl to capture that feeling of a crisp, colourful fall day.
This design is made for fingering weight, but don’t feel too tied to a specific gauge here, as it’s designed to be a one-size piece. This offers a lot of flexibility. If you have another yarn weight you’re eager to use, you absolutely can! Just keep in mind that it will naturally impact the final dimensions and the yardage.
This design features some rather long floats, so using the Ladderback Jacquard technique is pretty essential here to ensure a smooth, even fabric on the inside. The cowl itself is worked as a tube in the round, giving it a cosy double-layered thickness. But to add even more volume and help it drape beautifully around your neck, you can choose to make it into a Mobius loop. This means it gets a delightful twist before the ends are joined, creating that continuous flow.

We’re excited to share that we’ll be heading to the Barcelona Knits Festival next week! I’ll be teaching a couple of workshops, which seem to be already sold out, and I’m very appreciative! I also can’t wait to explore the marketplace and soak in all the incredible energy. If you happen to see me there, don’t hesitate to stop and say hello!
Here’s a quick preview of what’s coming up in the next newsletter…

Jumis Sweater
The Jumis Sweater takes inspiration from an ancient Latvian symbol, Jumis, for fertility, reimagining it in a colourful, top-down, drop-shoulder design. It goes hand in hand with the Fibre Gentili project’s mission to blend tradition with a contemporary twist, and shows off the beauty of the yarn.
The construction of this sweater incorporates simultaneous sleeves, and the colourwork on the body offers to use the Ladderback Jacquard technique for catching long floats.
The release is coming soon, and if you're in Barcelona next week, you might spot me wearing it!
