Big news and lots to celebrate

I should probably start with the biggest - and the reason for losing my knitting mojo - we are expecting another baby! It was a bit of a surprise, to say the least, and even though the first trimester symptoms have been no joke this time, we're all very excited! I can't wait to find out the gender in a few weeks and start designing their first knitted wardrobe items!!

Another reason to celebrate is the release of Starry Dawn- my latest Latvian mythology-inspired colourwork sweater in collaboration with Dina's home of crafts. It features a deep-running stranded colourwork pattern based on the sign of Auseklis - a Latvian pagan God of the dawn and the first star that appears in the morning on the east side of the sky; the sign of light defeating dark. Latvians believed that starry patterns have a magical meaning - they protect you from all evil.

By the way, Dina is also a Latvian like me, and we're both so typically shy that it took a mutual friend some effort to get us to dare talk about collaborating. :))
I'm delighted that happened and so grateful to have had the chance to work with her beautifully dyed yarn! The 100% Corriedale DK used to knit up the sweater comes in 30 beautiful colours and she's kindly offering a 15% discount until the end of this year when using code ZANETEKNITS at checkout. Don't hesitate to contact her if there's not enough of the colourway that your heart desires!

Starry Dawn is the fourth colourwork sweater pattern I've released this year. Quite unbelievable knowing that two years ago, I wouldn't dare touch a stranded colourwork project. It just goes to show what's possible when one puts their mind to something :)
And that, I believe, is the whole story for now. :)
Have a fantastic weekend and happy knitting,
Zanete
