New Pattern Release

In 2004, Kate and Rachel turned their love for hand-dyed and hand-spun yarns into Spincycle Yarns. They started small at a local farmers’ market with hand-spun yarns but didn’t stay there long. They developed Dyed In The Wool, a unique millspun 2-ply yarn known for its cool color transitions, made in partnership with a local mill, and that quickly caught everyone’s attention worldwide.

Now, Spincycle Yarns isn’t just a yarn company; it’s a source of inspiration, with a passionate team of over twenty people running the show in production and design. They’re all about innovation, community, and creativity. Their work with knitwear designers has been creating new stories in their yarns, touching crafters all around the globe.

Kate and Rachel’s journey from being hobbyists to leaders in their industry really shows the power of passion, dedication, and working together, inspiring others to get creative and share their own stories with the world.

Today, we celebrate this milestone by introducing a new pattern designed specifically for their worsted weight yarns, Trine and Dream State: A Luminary Affair Collar.

Get 20%off on Ravelry or zaneteknits.com with code ALUMINARYAFFAIR (This discount is valid until the 5th of May, 23:59 BST. )

This design draws its inspiration from the ancient Latvian love for the luminaries, especially the Sun and Moon. In Latvian tales and culture, these celestial bodies are an important matter, symbolizing light, direction, and the rhythm of life, renewal, and being in tune with nature.

The collar is knit seamlessly from the top down, starting off flat before switching to in the round with steeks at the sides. The colourwork pattern is present on both the front and back, giving it a cohesive look.

With its detailed motifs and striking appearance, this collar is a real celerbation of the beauty and connection of everything under the sky.

New design

I’m currently working on a new summer sweater with a top-down design. The sweater features a rather open lace pattern, but it is still unnamed. Soon, this design will be available for testing. This pattern is knit using fingering yarn, but the largely openwork nature of the design allows for a quick knitting process. If you’re interested in trying out this pattern, make sure to keep an eye out for the upcoming newsletter.

We would deeply appreciate it if you could share our newsletter with your fellow knitting enthusiasts. Encourage them to subscribe at link to keep up with all the latest updates from Zanete Knits. Your support means the world to us!
