I hope you have been doing well.
I have saved up quite a bit of news.
Firstly, the exciting moment of our latest family addition arriving has come and gone just over two weeks ago. Baby Luca was born very quickly yet peacefully at home in the water and has been the most chill dude ever since. He's still in that eat-sleep-repeat phase, so I can manage to get a few things done. I fully expect this won't last too long, though.
One of those things is finally publishing my first-ever sock design: Dynamism socks. This pattern is full of new and exciting ideas and techniques. It's a toe-up construction with an interesting gusset and features Latvian-inspired stranded colourwork.
I have come to find that socks are a great summer knitting project; the compact size means your lap isn't filled with a pile of hot wool which can get quite uncomfortable in the heat. I hope you make a pair and share by tagging with #dynamismsocks, as I can't wait to see your colour choices!
If you're not so keen on socks, I've got another thing to offer for the stranded knitting lovers. Smilgas cardigan is ready for testing - a simple, oversized v-neck cardigan with a bit of colourwork using DK weight yarn. It's worked flat (so, no steeking) from the top-down. You can learn about it and how to apply in my Ravelry forum.
Happy summer knitting,
Zanete
