New Pattern Release
Meet the Lightfall Sweater. It's a top-down design with a round yoke that uses stranded colourwork with twisted stitches and purls to create a textured fabric.
The Lightfall Sweater was inspired by a gorgeous men's sweater I spotted in a high-fashion ad. The original is way out of my budget, but I wondered if I could make my own version. It became a fun challenge. The final result turned out pretty similar but definitely different.
The name Lightfall came to me from the image of rays of light breaking through the darkness, and I thought it perfectly captured its vibe.
The yarn choice happened by chance. While teaching a class at Knit With Me in London, I spotted two colours sitting next to each other, and I was instantly inspired. I wanted to try boucle yarn for a while, and this was the perfect opportunity. At first, I planned to make something minor, like a colourwork hood, but once I started knitting, I got so into it that I ended up turning it into a whole sweater.
This design works well with boucle yarn, but you can use non-boucle yarn as long as the gauge matches. Just keep in mind that if your yarn is elastic and bouncy, the yoke pattern—which has some ribbing-like areas—might make the fabric shrink a bit. But extensive blocking should fix that.
The Lightfall Sweater is perfect for bold and subtle colour combos, giving you plenty of ways to make it your own. If you decide to knit one, I hope you love making it as much as I did!
The pattern is available in five different languages: English, German, French, Dutch, and Spanish.

New Test Call
Elan Sweater
A spontaneous idea for a sweater originated from the need to complete a spring outfit and turned into a quick project. The vision was simple - an elegant off-shoulder design, featuring a chic fold-over collar and stylish trumpet sleeves that could add the perfect touch to a breezy, seasonal look.
The pattern is written for DK-weight gauge (20 sts x 28 rows in 10 cm / 4") which makes it a relatively quick knit. It's worked seamlessly from the top down, which means all lengths are easily adjustable, allowing you to customise the fit to your liking.
This pattern is ideal for advanced beginners and includes a series of video tutorials covering all the techniques involved.
Registration for the test call will open on Wednesday, March 19th, at 3 PM GMT, giving everyone a fair shot no matter their time zone. It'll stay open until all the spots are filled.

A sneak peek of the upcoming newsletter
Echo Pullover
The Echo Pullover is all about collaboration and creativity. It started as a simple birthday sweater for my daughter, but it turned into a meaningful design process we worked on together. We combined her love of dropped shoulders, positive ease, and geometric patterns with my passion for colourwork to make something totally unique. This project pushed me out of my comfort zone—knitting with fine fingering-weight yarn and sticking to a limited colour palette—but those challenges ended up being so inspiring. The result? A sweater packed with personality and character. The Echo Pullover is a story of connection, compromise, and the joy of collaborating.
The pattern is scheduled for release soon, so don't forget to stay updated and watch for announcements!
Celestia Top Test
It started as a spontaneous idea and has become a fun, all-over colourwork summery top made with sport-weight yarn. Inspired by my Latvian roots, the design highlights the Sun symbol as the main feature. This simple top is worked top-down with a round yoke, short sleeves, and some interesting finishing touches to make it stand out.
This project is a collaboration with Spincycle Yarns and is especially fun with their colour-changing yarns such as Dyed In The Wool or Nocturne —watching the colours shift as you work feels like painting with yarn! The changing shades and patterns make every piece totally unique.
A test call will be announced in the following newsletter, so be sure to keep an eye out for that.
