Escape to Knitting Serenity: Where Lotus Flowers Bloom in Quiet Beauty 🌺

New Pattern Release

We're happy to share the latest addition to our floral round yoke collection - the Pink Lotus Cardigan.

The beautiful Tibetan Cloud yarn by Myak Fibers inspires this gorgeous lotus-covered colourwork cardigan. This yarn offers a calming knitting experience that feels like stepping into serene landscapes.

This cardigan is worked seamlessly from the top down in the round, with a steek at the centre front. It includes a waist shaping option and the ability to shift the sleeves back by an inch on each side, providing extra room at the front for a relatively larger bust.

P.S. If you're considering making a sweater instead of a cardigan, it depends on your chosen size. Because of the large pattern repeat, some sizes don't have enough space for complete repeats. I've used the cardigan opening as a workaround to allow partial repeats on the sides. The partial repeats might look less nice in a pullover for those in odd-numbered sizes.

Here are some snippets of feedback from the test knitters on this pattern:

"I love that Zanete's patterns enable you to expand your skill set in a safe environment. They are truly some of the best patterns I've used in terms of including everything you need to make a beautiful garment." (@‌Puginarugcrafts)

"This is my first experience knitting a Zanete Knits pattern and it was wonderful. Her directions are spot on. I like the options that were given for different ways to do the chart. I am so pleased with the sweater and have received many complimentary comments from family. The best being "Can you make me one?"." (@backroadsknitter)

This YouTube deep-dive video takes a closer look at the pattern construction, techniques and how you can customise and modify it for a better fit.

New Test Call

Ready for something with short floats? I'm excited to share that we're looking for testers for our new top-down, round colourwork yoke design. It's a team-up with Julie Asselin and features their sport-weight base, Journey.

The design includes a fun chart with 99 rows of symmetrical and intuitive colourwork, making for an engaging knit without being too repetitive. We've added an option for waist shaping for more versatility.

Check out our latest blog post for more info and how to apply. As it's first-come, first-served, we'll open the registrations at 3 PM BST so everyone in all time zones has a fair shot!

In other news...

September is a busy month with many in-person workshops, so we'll be in touch again toward the end of the month. But if you're interested, here is a sneak peek of what's coming up.

We'll be excited to launch Socktober, a month-long Sockalong! This was inspired by our planned trip to Lyon's knit.eat festival and how it will inevitably lead to memories for the 10th Memories Sock pattern.

We will kick off the sockalong with a 4-hour LIVE Sockathon, streamed on social media on October 1st.

We'll share more details in the following newsletter, but we'd love for you to join our live stream and cast on a new pair of Zanete Knits socks anytime during the stream.

Just before the big event, we're launching a special Socktober deal on all our sock patterns for anyone looking to join in and maybe try knitting socks a new way. Keep an eye out so you don't miss the deal!

Martins Sweater Release

I'm super excited to let you know that I'll soon be sharing the pattern for Martin's Sweater—a team-up with Camellia Fiber Co. using their gorgeous Suri Lace. This design draws inspiration from the ancient Latvian symbol of Martins, a light and fire beacon representing harvest, fertility, and prosperity, shown through two roosters as light's messengers. I can't say enough good things about this yarn; it makes one of the loveliest sweaters I've ever made. So, watch for the release announcement in the next email!

Testing Yoke Meditation Series 5

The Yoke Meditation Series is back, as I've started swatching for the next design. I'm putting the use of my handspun tradition on hold for now to dive into what might be the most natural country yarn I've worked with. This yarn comes from a Latvian mill that has been using the same methods for over 100 years and is all chemical-free. Its rustic feel gives a unique touch, and the fabric is super light and thin but really warm. This will be another sport-weight addition to the Meditation Series. I plan to announce the test with the next newsletter, so stay tuned for that update!

We would appreciate your passing along our newsletter to fellow knitting fans. Please encourage them to subscribe via this link to get the newest updates from Zanete Knits. Thank you for your support!
