Express yourself in a truly unique yoke! 

I hope you are getting lots more knitting time than me. Though, I am grateful for any minute I can find to sit down and do some. In between the sittings, I have some quick news to share that will hopefully inspire you to treat yourself to more knitting time :)

Firstly, today is the day we are launching my latest collaboration with Spincycle Yarns in their new yarn base Trine in combination with Dream State. And once again, it's something fantastic! Melancholia Sweater is a unique stranded colourwork yoke sweater, worked from the top down in worsted weight yarn.

If you follow me on Instagram, you might have seen that the journey to this design was bumpy. I explored two completely different ideas before settling with this one, and both of them were almost complete before I convinced myself that they wouldn't do and needed to be ripped.

I'm thrilled I did that and didn't give up until I was happy. Looking at all the fantastic tester versions is incredible. Check out the Instagram hashtag! 

It is really a special kind of yoke. Even though I borrowed the name from the Dream State colourway I used, it fits the organic and asymmetric design very well. If you choose your favourite colours, you can really use the opportunity to meditate with colourwork and to create a unique sweater to fit your unique mood. Since it's using worsted weight, it will reward you quickly.

Secondly, There is a new test call up in my Ravelry forum for a top-down stranded colourwork cardigan with a steek. This pattern explores the ladderback jacquard technique for catching long floats. If you ask me, I'm entirely sold that this is the way to go from now on.
