New Pattern Release

Today we're unveiling the next design in the Yoke Meditation Series. Following the release of No.2 earlier this year, the pattern for its predecessor, No.1, is finally ready and is another ode to losing yourself in meditative stranded colourwork.

The motifs draw inspiration from the ancient art of Buddhist mandalas and invite you to contemplate the beautiful symmetry of the universe and find inner peace.

One of the biggest reasons this project was hard to put down was the choice to use a gradient yarn as a contrast colour. It is one of the ways to make any colourwork project more exciting, inspiring quite a few test knitters to follow footsteps. Check out the latest blog post on achieving this effect in 3 ways and for an inspiring collection of colour-changing samples of Yoke Meditation Series No1 sweaters.

Alternatively, look through all the dazzling test knit versions under the Instagram hashtag #yokemeditationseries1 or on the Ravelry projects' page.

If that's piqued your interest, the live Q&A session about this pattern discusses inspiration, construction, yarn alternatives and more.

And last but not least, you can use the code YMS01 at checkout on RavelryEtsy or zaneteknits.com to get 20% off until the 30th of April, 23:59 BST.

Zanete Knits 1st KAL

null

Who would have thought that our first KAL would be such a hit? With over 80 projects already registered and some already cast on, it's clear that the tribe is up for the challenge. The excitement surrounding this meaningful KAL is genuinely something special.

We thought you'd like to know the most popular choices:

  1. Aeternum Sweater is the most popular design among knitters for this KAL.
  2. Misty Morning Cardi is another practical and everyday staple selected by many participants.
  3. Pagan Sky - this all-time favourite of yours (and mine) is also the main focus for a good group of participants.
  4. A Thousand and One Suns is another colourwork yoke sweater dominating the selections.
  5. Rhubarb and Custard Socks is the most popular sock pattern of the KAL thus far, a bunch of knitters are determined to finish them as part of the KAL.

Choose whatever pattern(s) of mine you’ll participate with - both new cast on or a while a go started wip counts. Test knits, unfortunately, are excluded from the KAL.

The first prize draw will be on the 1st of May, and we'll randomly select two finished objects from all that have posted photos in the discussion thread until then.

The Wildcat Sweater is the first-ever all-over stranded colourwork design in our offering and is ready for your critical eyes. The project uses fingering-weight yarns with subtle or high contrast.

You have ample time to complete your task, with the deadline set for the 18th of June.

Head to the blog post to read all about the design and how to register for the test.

Return to Latvian-inspired colourwork

The Song of the Moon Sweater is a design in collaboration with Yama Yarn and is currently a work in progress. Still, we hope for a test call to be announced next month. It will be a fingering weight project in multiple colours, but only 2 in any given row, so perfect for diving into the stash.
