First-Ever Zanete Knits Mystery Yokealong is here!

[object Object]

Remember a while ago when we asked if you'd be interested in joining a fabulous stranded colourwork mystery yokealong? The response was overwhelmingly positive, with a resounding 'yes'!

We've been hard at work to bring this adventure to life, teaming up with Do Ewe Knit? and some fantastic yarn companies like Moondrake Co. and Spincycle Yarns.

Now, the moment you've been waiting for... We're thrilled to announce that all the exciting details are ready to be shared. So, without further ado, here's everything you need to know:

The project will be a top-down round yoke sweater with deep running (past the sleeve separation) Latvian-inspired colourwork featuring geometric shapes.

It will come in 9 sizes with the following finished bust circumference:

Sizes: 1 (2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9)

Finished chest circumference:

  • 87 (95.5, 105.5, 117, 127, 135.5, 145.5, 155.5, 165.5) cm
  • 34¾ (38¼, 42¼, 46¾, 50¾, 54¼, 58¼, 62¼, 66¼)“

The recommended ease is 5-15 cm / 2-6" positive.

Schedule

The first clue will be launching on the 3rd of January

the second will come on the 9th of January,

The third will be released on the 17th of January, and finally, the 7th of February is when we'll share the last clue along with the full pattern.

Yarn

It is using a Sport weight yarn and as the colourwork is quite intricate, a high contrast is strongly recommended. We’ve been working with the Spincycle Yarns Dyed In the Wool (100% American superwash wool; 183 m [200 yds] / approximately 50 g) exclusive Do Ewe Knit? colourway “Across the Eweniverse” as the contrast colour and paired that with Moondrake Co. Chibi Sport (100% superwash Merino; 338 m [370 yds] / 100 g) in Rose Quartz colourway.

Gauge: 28 sts & 34 rows = 10 cm / 4" in Stockinette stitch and colourwork in the round, blocked. You can use any stranded colourwork or fairisle pattern for the swatch.

Suggested needles

  • 2.75 mm (US 2) circulars 60-100 cm / 24-40" long and/or DPNs for small circumference knitting
  • 2.25 mm (US 1) circulars 60 cm / 24" long
