New Pattern Release
We're thrilled to share Porto Memories Socks, the 7th pattern in the Memories socks series, which is dedicated to our trip to Porto, Portugal! The most enchanting visual experience was the mesmerising tiles. All of them were intricately designed and served as a decorative cover on anything you can imagine. These socks are a fusion of the stunning tile patterns I enjoyed encountering.
They are designed with a cuff-down construction, featuring an intriguing sole gusset and a well-fitting Dutch heel, worked in stranded colourwork for extra durability.
Make sure to check out the YouTube video diving deeper into this pattern! It elaborates on the inspiration and discusses the gauge, yarn and needles, sizing, construction, techniques and potential modifications. It's packed with valuable information, including tips on knitting the chessboard heel and addressing any small gaps that may appear during the heel turn decreases.
When purchasing the pattern from Ravelry or zaneteknits.com, apply the code PORTO during checkout to receive a 20% discount. This offer expires on the 18th of February at 23:59 GMT.

New Test Call
Have you been steering clear of textured cabled sweaters because you're worried about the complexity of cables? Now might be the time to embrace the challenge! We invite you to participate in a pattern test that perfectly marries cables and stockinette, yet creates a sophisticated and architectural garment. Most of the cables are beginner-friendly and the pattern calls for using heavy DK or worsted-weight yarn, making your knitting experience all the smoother and quicker. Find more details and how to register in the latest blog post.

Teaching at the Unravel Festival
You will have seen the overwhelming reliance on the Japanese short-row technique if you've knit anything from our patterns. It is our favourite short-row technique, and many knitters have told us it has become theirs after discovering it in our patterns. It is also the technique I have chosen to teach in our first in-person teaching workshop later this month at the Unravel Festival in Farnham, UK.
If you are in the area, some spaces are still available for the class called.
The Secret to Mastering the Japanese Short Row Technique on the 24th of February 10:00 am-12:00 pm.
It will give you a comprehensive understanding of the Japanese short-row technique, its benefits, and how it can be applied in different situations. So come along and join this interactive and hands-on session! We'd love to share our tips with you.
