TEST CALL (TEST IS FULL): A Luminary Affair Collar

[object Object]

TEST IS NOW FULL.

Deadline: 20th-Mar-24

We're starting a test for #aluminaryaffaircollar with worsted weight yarn - worked seamlessly from the top down.

Note that this is an intermediate difficulty pattern.

We're looking for a few test knitters who can complete this project by the 20th of March, 2024.

You are welcome to use your creativity and turn this pattern into a garment after it has been published! However, we would like to remind you that during the testing phase, we kindly request that you refrain from making extensive modifications. This is to ensure that we do not mislead any knitters who may interpret the pattern as accommodating these modifications.

Sizes: One size

Finished Shoulder to Shoulder: 39.5 cm / 15½”

To apply for testing, please fill out this form: https://go.zaneteknits.com/apply-to-test

Note: This form will open at 3PM on the 21st of February and close as soon as the test group is full.

Other details of the design:

Yarn: Worsted weight yarn. Depending on the length of the collar, allow approximately:

  • MC: 520 m [570 yds]
  • CC: 150 m [165 yds]

Yarn used in the sample is 4 skeins of Spincycle Yarns Trine (100% Non-superwash fine wool; 138 m [150 yds] / approximately 70 g) in colourway No. 60 and 2 skeins of Spincycle Yarns Dream State (100% American superwash wool; 138 m [150 yds] / approximately 67 g) in Colourway Absolute Zero.

Gauge: 18 sts & 26 rows = 10 cm / 4” in Stockinette stitch on larger needles, blocked.

Block your swatch the same way you plan to block your collar and let it fully dry before measuring the gauge.

Suggested needles

  • 4.5 mm (US 7) circulars 60-100 cm / 24-40″ long
  • 4.0 mm (US 6) circulars 60-100 cm / 24-40″ long

Notions: Stitch markers, row counter, scissors, tape measure, stitch holders or waste yarn, tapestry needle, for steeking: “sticky” lace or light fingering weight waste yarn, crochet hook in smaller size and sharp scissors.

Techniques used: Backwards loop cast-on, lifted increases, knitting in the round and steeking.

Difficulty: Intermediate.

Construction notes: The collar is seamlessly worked in the round from the top down.
