Other details of the design:
Yarn: Fingering weight yarn.
- Main Colour (MC): 300 m / 330 yds
- Contrast Colour (CC): 250 m / 275 yds
Yarn used in the sample is 2 skeins of Feliz Y Punto Sock Merino (100% Superwash Merino Wool; 400 m [437 yds] / 100 g): 1 skein of colourway Horizon as the Main Colour (MC) and 1 skein of colourway November Tales as Contrast Colour (CC).
Gauge: 28 sts & 36 rows = 10 cm / 4” in stranded colourwork in the round, blocked, however, the gauge is not crucial for this project.
Suggested needles : 2.75 mm (US 2) or needle size that gets the gauge; circulars with sharp tips, 60 cm / 24″ long.
Notions: Stitch markers, crochet hook and waste yarn for provisional cast-on, spare circular needle in same or smaller size, tapestry needle.
Techniques used: Provisional cast-on, stranded colourwork, Ladderback Jacquard, grafting.
Construction notes: You knit the cowl in the round as a tube, starting with a provisional cast-on. Follow the colorwork chart until all rows are complete. Then, undo the provisional cast-on and graft the live stitches to the cast-on stitches. You can optionally add a mobius twist before grafting.
