- 7 (8, 9)”

Other details of the design:
Yarn: Fingering or sock weight, allow approximately:
Main colour:
- 255 (275, 325) m
- 275 (300, 355) yds
Contrast colour:
- 70 (70, 85) m
- 75 (75, 90) yds
Yarn used in sample (size 2) is 1 skein of PatricKnits Bis-Sock (85% Superwash Merino; 15% Nylon; 400 m [437 yds] / 100 g) in VKL exclusive colourway as main colour and 1 skein of Louise Robert Design Super-Sock (75% superwash Merino, 25% Nylon; 400 m [437 yds] / 100 g) in colourway Sesame as contrast colour.
Gauge: 32 sts & 38 rows = 10 cm / 4” in Stockinette stitch in the round, blocked. Swatch both, plain stockinette and colourwork, as you might need to change needle size to maintain the gauge. Block your swatch the same way you plan to block your socks and let it fully dry before measuring the gauge.
Suggested needles: 2-2.25 mm (US 0-1) circulars or DPNs for small circumference knitting.
Notions: Stitch markers, row counter, tape measure, removable stitch markers or bobby pins, tapestry needle.
Techniques used: Judy's magic cast-on, Japanese short rows, lifted increases, stranded colourwork, Tubular bind-off.
Construction notes: Start with the toes – the socks are worked from the toe up. Instead of placing on the sides, we've cleverly placed the gusset increases on the bottom of the foot. Once you turn the heel and work the heel flap, it's time to dive into the fun part! The leg is worked in the round and features a vibrant stranded colourwork section. And for that perfect finishing touch, we end with a 1x1 rib and a beautifully polished Tubular bind-off.
