Other details of the design:

Yarn: Fingering weight, depending on the length of the pullover, allow approximately:

Main colour (MC):

  • 960 (1030, 1120, 1235, 1335, 1430, 1540, 1645) m
  • 1050 (1125, 1225, 1350, 1460, 1565, 1685, 1795) yds

Contrast colour (CC):

  • 465 (505, 555, 620, 675, 730, 795, 855) m
  • 530 (575, 635, 710, 775, 835, 915, 980) yds

Yarns used in sample (size 2) are 3 skeins of Ainsworth and Prin Merino Silk Singles (70% superwash merino, 30% Silk; 400 m [437 yds] / 100 g) in colourway Lime Mortar as main colour and 2 skeins of Ainsworth and Prin Slubby Sock (85% superwash merino, 15% Viscose; 400 m [437 yds] / 100 g) in colourway Bark as contrast colour.

Gauge: 24 sts & 30 rows = 10 cm / 4” in Stockinette stitch and colourwork in the round on larger needles, blocked. Swatch both, plain stockinette and colourwork as you might need to change needle sizes to maintain the gauge. Block your swatch the same way you plan to block your pullover and let it fully dry before measuring the gauge.

Suggested needles

  • 3.25 mm (US 3) circulars 60-80 cm / 24-32” long, and/or DPNs for sleeves.
  • 2.75 mm (US 2) circulars 60-80 cm / 24-32” long, and/or DPNs for sleeves.

Notions: Crochet hook of same size as smaller needles, smooth waste yarn (e.g. cotton), stitch markers, locking stitch markers, row counter, stitch holder, tapestry needle, spare needles in smaller size.

Techniques used: Provisional cast-on, left-leaning and right-leaning increases, trapping floats, short rows, stretchy bind-off.

Notes: The pullover is worked seamlessly in the round from the top down.
