The ruffle took 3x longer than the rest of the top. Was it worth it?

New Pattern Release

Let me introduce you to the Yasmeen Top! It's a lightweight, airy design resulting from my lace knitting obsession after finishing the Noura Cardigan. Perfect for summer and effortlessly mixing elegance and comfort.

This pattern is designed for fingering or sport weight yarn, and for the best result, I recommend using solid-colored yarn to show off the intricate lace pattern.

The top is worked flat from the top down to your desired length with an optional ruffle. This pattern also features picot edges around the armholes and finger cord ties for a fun finish.

Note that the ruffle is a bit misleading. It appears to be a simple finishing touch, but its width is four times the chest circumference, which is quite a bit of extra knitting!

The Yasmeen Top pattern was quite a hit with test knitters! They loved how fun and engaging it was to work on, and many of them were happy to see how clear and detailed the instructions were; some thought that even beginners could tackle it. They also loved the decorative knotted bind-off technique that finishes the ruffle and the fun way to make the ties.

You can make use of 20% discount by using the code YASMEEN at checkout on Ravelry or Etsy via zaneteknits.com.

Thuraya Sweater Test

After finding a new interesting way to use mohair with other yarns, beyond the usual "holding it together" approach, for my Caeli Sweater, I couldn't wait to get another chance to experiment. Also, my obsession with slip stitches and lace had to sneak in, and it all came together into Thuraya Sweater - something very exciting and fun to make!

This version is a cosy drop shoulder crewneck design while maintaining the elegant European shoulder. The sleeve cap is worked simultaneously as the yoke, but the stitch pattern arrangements are completely customisable. You could make the entire sweater in plain stockinette or go full-on two-colour thorn stitch all the way.

This pattern is created in partnership with Moondrake Co, featuring her DK weight yarn DraKe and Silk Mohair Kinu Momo. The test call will be announced in the next newsletter so stay tuned.
