Rami Socks
Description
Rami Socks showcases an all-over colourwork pattern with bold, geometric motifs. This style works beautifully even with subtle colour contrasting colour combinations, so you don’t need high intensity differences to make the design stand out.
Like many of my sock patterns, this one is worked toe-up, featuring a sole gusset and a slip-stitch heel flap, a combination I’ve come to love for its great fit. The toe-up method also makes it simple to adjust the leg length, giving you the option to knit anything from a short ankle sock to a full knee-high.
To address the reduced stretch that can occur with colourwork, I’ve added a few extra stitches in the leg section, helping the sock slide over your heel more easily while still hugging the foot snugly for a comfy fit.
You can also check out this detailed tutorial made for a similar pattern. It uses a different colourwork motif, but all the techniques and concepts are basically the same.

Notes
These socks start from the toe using Judy's Magic cast-on. We shape the toe with lifted increases. When we reach the instep, the contrast colour is joined and we follow the colourwork chart. Rather than the sides, we place the gusset increases at the bottom of the sole. We shape the bottom of the heel using short rows, then a slip-stitch heel flap is worked back and forth in the main colour. We follow the colourwork chart again for the leg until we reach the preferred length and finish with a 1x1 rib and Tubular bind-off.
