If you've been looking for a way to take your knitting skills to the next level, this workshop is perfect for you! It will give you a comprehensive understanding of the Japanese short-row technique, its benefits, and how it can be applied in different situations.
We'll cover the background of short rows and the Japanese short-row technique, including an in-depth look at the fundamentals. To put theory into practice, we'll make a swatch and test out five different situations. By the end, you'll know how to use Japanese short rows as a substitute for any other short row method.

We'll start with a quick overview of why picking up stitches is important, then look at different situations with practical tips and step-by-step demos. You'll practise on a small swatch. By the end, you'll know how to pick up stitches neatly and confidently.

Toe-Up Triumph: Crafting the Perfect Fitting Sock — Part 1
Learn to knit toe-up socks in this two-part workshop. We'll cover common challenges with toe-up sock patterns and the advantages of starting from the toe. You'll master essential techniques like closed cast-on, sole gusset, and reinforced heel flap.
In part one, we'll cover sock constructions, their pros and cons, and practise key techniques like Judy's Magic Cast-On and lifted increases to create the toe, instep, and gusset.
Intermediate sock knitters with experience knitting a few pairs. Comfortable knitting in the round.

The continuation of our toe-up sock series. We'll shape the heel with short rows, create a sturdy heel flap using a reinforced slip stitch pattern, and finish with a stretchy bind-off for the leg.
By the end, you'll have the skills and confidence to craft toe-up socks with creativity. You'll have completed the heel shaping, reinforced heel flap, and stretchy bind-off.
Intermediate sock knitters. You must have completed part 1 of the series.

Fearless Finishes: Transform Your Knitting with Steeking
Dive into the art of steeking! This session will give you the confidence to try the technique. With clear, step-by-step instructions, you'll tackle any fear of cutting your knitting and open the door to endless possibilities.
We'll start with the history and purpose of steeking. Then you'll practise by knitting a colourwork swatch, securing the steek with the crochet method, and cutting it confidently.
Experience with stranded colourwork and a few finished colourwork garments.

Buttonhole Brilliance: Techniques & Placement Formula

You'll learn yarn-over buttonholes, one-row buttonholes for single-layer bands, and buttonholes for double-knit bands. We'll also cover how to calculate the right placement.
