Read more →The Ailis Sweater draws inspiration from Bronze Age metals and oxidised copper tones. After early trials with a variegated yarn proved too busy for the colourwork, the design shifted to more solid, high-contrast shades. A series of delayed yarn deliveries over Christmas added some drama, but the final result was well worth the wait.

Read more →My new design, the Pasaka Sweater, is the second design in my collection inspired by traditional Latvian mittens. The mittens come from a region in Latvia where my mother is from, and in Latvian ethnography, it's well known for its highly detailed, intricate work.
