Pattern Release 8 April 2026

A sweater pattern I'm giving away for FREE ✨

Some patterns come from a moment of inspiration. This one comes from heartbreak. My newest design is the Children of Gaza Sweater. This is my first-ever FREE sweater pattern, and it exists because I believe that when words fail, we can spread a message through knitting.

New Pattern Release

Some patterns come from a moment of inspiration. This one comes from heartbreak. My newest design is the Children of Gaza Sweater. This is my first-ever FREE sweater pattern, and it exists because I believe that when words fail, we can spread a message through knitting.

I have watched the lives of children be destroyed by conflict, and like many of you, I have felt helpless. However, helplessness does not mean we do nothing.

On the 12th of April, I am running the Brighton Marathon to raise money for War Child. This charity works directly with children affected by conflict. This free pattern is a complementary way to spread the message and show solidarity.

The design is inspired by traditional keffiyeh patterns in solidarity with the Palestinian people. The garment is worked seamlessly from the top-down with stranded colourwork in the yoke. It is written for a DK-weight yarn, and only the main colour needs to be a full sweater quantity. For the contrast colour, you could follow my footsteps and build a meaningful gradient from your leftover yarns.

You can hear more about the story behind this sweater in the pattern deep-dive YouTube video.

The pattern includes Ladderback Jacquard charts, video tutorials, and chart options for both lighter and darker main colours. I hope you will knit it, wear it, and help spread the word.

If you would like to support the cause, you can donate through my fundraiser, or I would be just as grateful if you donated to any charity of your choosing that supports children in struggle

New Test Call

My newest design is the Dalal Slipover. This is a top-down seamless slipover worked at a large gauge that knits up incredibly quickly. The cables look impressively complex but are surprisingly simple to work. It is the perfect piece for springtime transition weather when you need that extra layer that is not quite a sweater.

Registration opens on the 8th of April at 3PM BST (British Summer Time) and will remain open until all slots are filled.

A Preview of What Is Coming Up

Next week, I will share the seventh design in the Yoke Meditation Series.

This version has a relaxed, slightly oversized fit, worked at a sport-weight gauge, so the fabric has a lovely drape that is perfect for transitional weather.

It is a collaboration with The Fibre Co, who recently announced they are winding down their yarn business. This design is a tribute to their beautiful contribution to our craft. If you love the yarn of this company, this is a special one.

As always, the colourwork runs deep past the sleeve separation, and there is an interesting neckband detail and a fun decrease near the cuffs.

I will also be sharing a test call for the Sordino Cardigan. This stash-busting project was my attempt at using up some of the mohair I have acquired.

It is still very cold here, and I urgently need this basic cardigan in my wardrobe. It is knitted in a spring colour to help manifest some warmer weather!

This is a DK-weight or light-worsted top-down seamless cardigan designed specifically for a different kind of closure.

I used a frog knot, but you could install a zipper, add toggle buttons, or use whatever you fancy. The knitting itself is very simple, and I am especially looking forward to seeing what people decide to do with their closures.
